Statement of Significance (as of May 29, 2000):
Upon taking my first trip to Oklahoma to see Fort Washita near Durant on May 15, 2000, I attempted to find a hotel through Priceline that would honor $35 per night in Dallas. The hotel that Priceline found me was Candlewood Suites. The hotel was in a terrific location: along I-635 near US 75, which is the highway to take to get to Durant. Uncertain of what I would find in Dallas and fearing that the DFW area would be just as crowded as Houston, I went in with a heads-up attitude. However, after being able to drive easily on I-635, I was blown away by Candlewood! The rooms were so much bigger than I was used to, and the "store" and workout room inside the hotel were totally unexpected. The wonderful stay I had at Candlewood helped me to enjoy my time in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
