While "Love changes everything" ranks higher and is another 80's song dealing with love, Al B. Sure's song about seeing and trying to catch his Miss Right struck me hard when it was released, whereas Climie Fisher's tune didn't come to be the great song it is till the mid 90's. "Rescue Me" brings back memories from my junior high days. It was a time when I started to develop crushes... and "Rescue Me" was the song that described how I felt about my biggest crush of my junior high years, Angie. Because I couldn't bring myself to approach Angie, I would listen to "Rescue Me" and imagine in my head about what it would be like to actually play the part of Al B. and take actions to at least getting to know this girl who, as the song says, "I'll always love... till my dying day". Now, 16 years later, and even though I've gotton over Angie, Al B.'s song still holds a strong place in my heart and will most likely have a permanent spot in the top 10.
The Lyrics
Chorus:
Do ya wanna wanna
Do ya wanna wanna
Do ya wanna wanna rescue me?
Do ya wanna wanna
Do ya wanna wanna
Do ya wanna wanna rescue me?
There's a girl standing there made just for me
If I open up my eyes, then maybe I would see
You know you always cross my mind
I'm gonna get that girl and do it right this time
Chorus
The fellas always say why do I feel this way?
I'll always love that girl till my dying day
Don't try to change my mind because hearts don't lie
She could be the girl who loves this guy
All I hope for
In my dreams at night, she walks right through the door
You know you're always on my mind
I'm gonna get that girl and do it right this time
Chorus
Please, I can't take no more
Can't take no more
You, you, the one I adore
Cause you're the one B. Sure adores
Chorus
